Removing text from image title.

I’m currently working on my site: https://www.howthingstaste.com

I love the theme – it’s exactly the look I want but the problem is that there is no support for it and I’ve never found a theme THIS difficult to work with.

I just want the IMAGE to show up, since it has the title as part of it. However I can’t make the words disappear from over the image.

I’ve tried these three options in the style sheet:

#header h1 { display:none } OR
#site-title {display:none}; OR
#site-title { text-indent:-9999px; } OR

And I’ve tried changing the .title to 0px and dozens of other things. I just can’t make that text disappear. Any tips or ideas greatly appreciated!
