Hi, I searched for removing tables for the database and I’m not so sure that I found anything helpful.

A long long time ago (maybe 2 years?) back in the WP1 (or before? I can’t remember) I installed a WP hack/plugin (not sure which) for polls. After some major upgrade (maybe to 1.2) it never worked anymore and I didn’t bother about it.

But it did modify my database. I don’t think these tables are in use anymore (wp_pollsa and wp_pollsq). I was wondering if I could just go into phpymadmin and safely remove them?

Also, what would have put in a blacklist table? Is there any way to check the last time data was entered into any of these three tables?

I wasn’t sure if this went in troubleshooting or here (as it happened because of a hack). I am trying to cleanup my database before I move hosts.

Any help, advice, name-calling would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

  • Make a backup just in case, then delete/’drop’ them.

The blacklist table is probably related to an anti-spam plugin?

re blacklist: I figure so, but I can’t quite remember which.

You know, such a simple solution just didn’t occur to me…(me idiot)

    thank you very much!

EDIT: Removed the polls stuff…thinking about blacklist.

Welcome! Can you mark this resolved then?
