Removing space under navigation and removing gradient navigation

Hello everyone,

How do I remove the space between the bottom of the navigation bar and the top of the content? It is currently showing my background which I do not want. I want it to be right up to the bottom of the navigation bar.

Also, how do I remove the gradient navigation? I rather just have it plain white with a colored linked
