Removing Scripts via Ocean Extra breaks the theme

  • Via Theme Panel > Scripts & Styles – if I disable scripts that I am not using it breaks the rest of the theme which seems very odd.

    For example – I removed the Simple Line Icons and the entire OceanWP theme just lost all it’s font styles and more.

    I am using Elementor Pro – is that an issue?

    Try to check the PHP version. Update it if it is not PHP7. Did you update all the plugins and OceanWP theme to the latest version?

    Thanks Amit – and yes al my plugins and PHP are fully up to date.

    My question seems to have been asked before and the OceanWP Main Author seems to acknowledge that there is a problem here (in another forum post).

    Is it because I am hosting with WPEngine?

    If I disable ‘simple line icons’ which I don’t want to use – then the entire theme (albeit basic since I am developing the site at the moment) completely breaks.

    What’s the work around?

    Of course, I don’t want to load scripts that are not being used for obvious reasons…

    Okay, please follow the below settings and check it fixes the issue or not. If it doesn’t work, then we will need to test things on our end.

    1. Check SSL settings and fixed the mixed content error if there is any
    2. Disable all the plugin except Ocean Extra + Elementor and disable the simple line icons file
    3. Disable security/optimization/performance plugin temporarily
