I’m using the gorgeous Path theme and I would love to remove the blog excerpts below the slider to move the footer widgets up and make the slider the only posts on the front page. Anyone have any idea how I could do that? I’ve dug around in the code but so far no luck.

You could copy slider page template to your child theme and roll your own based on that. Basically remove extra loops in there.

Yes, that’s my plan but I’m not all that clever with loops. I think probably I should just remove a whole bunch of stuff and see what works. ?? Thank you, Sami, for such a beautiful, beautiful theme that’s also easy to handle. I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on it. You can see it here: https://dawnfriedman.com

Ok, I was able to do it by creating a page using the “slider” template and making that my front page. Then because I didn’t want to have the slider on the blog page, I created another page using the “most popular” template but removed the “most popular” call so it would call all of the posts and I made them full posts instead of excerpts. Then instead of setting my WP to publish the blog to that page (because that automatically creates a slider), I put a link in the menu to that page.

I’m sharing this here in case anyone else is looking to do the same thing.
