Removing page header but preserving formating

Hi,
Does anyone was able to remove page header but preserve page formatting.
Basically I need a page without header and footer.
I did create a custom page template and remove get_header(); at the beginning and get_footer(); at the end.

But removing get_header(); kill all page formatting, fonts, sizes, colors.
I am left with the blank page ??

What i need is to preserve all settings but remove page header text and menu.
