    hi
is there an option for removing the original images after they are regenerated
i have many many images on a eccommerce site and i dont want to be storing two sets of the same images in different sizes

also i have tried to using the editor to rescale some images but this doesnt seem to make any difference to the way they appear on the site
is this because they havent been regenerated yet?

    Hi @mbenic !

I’m sorry we missed your question here and thanks for the bump!

If you want to remove the old image sizes when regenerating thumbnails you need to check the “Delete thumbnail files for old unregistered sizes in order to free up server space. This may result in broken images in your posts and pages. ” option.

Please note, once deleted these images can’t be restored so I recommend you back up your site before using it.

Which editor are you using to scale images? The way the images will be displayed can depend on many things. Most often themes have predefined sizes for different types of images so changing the image won’t make any difference. Same goes for some plugins.

For example, the images on the page you linked depend on sizes defined by your theme and WooCommerce (also there seems to be some page builder used). Which image are you looking to change there and how?

i think i managed to solve the issue by changing theme customiser settings and choosing the woocommerce images to appear uncropped
that seemed to do the trick

    thanks for your help tho

That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know.

I’m going to close this thread now. However, if something else comes up, feel free to open a new topic and we will be happy to help.
