Removing Menu Bullets in 1.5

That method doesn’t work because they aren’t in fact, bullets. They are hard-coded.

Why would they be hardcoded? Or is this just temporary?

If you look at the html that the code generates for the menu, they don’t show up, so I assume it’s a style. Can you explain further?

I traced the generation of this code back to the “get_archives_link” function, and I don’t see anything hard-coded there that would cause this.

What I mean by “hard-coded” is that it’s not a CSS attribute that is being used. You can change the chevrons to something else if you like, but it’s not a matter of a list-style-type attribute.

NM, I’ve been looking and looking for where to do it ever since you first stated that it was hard-coded. Is there any way that you could tell me where to find this in the code?

@symantix: I’ve wanted to look at your blog, but the link from your name doesn’t lead there. So we just don’t know what’s going on in the partiuclar template you use. If this is a Kubrik template, it might be this part:

Not sure, though — never used or edited Kubrik.

You know, once 1.5 is officially released we are going to have even more Kubrick-specific questions… might these be better handled by the Kubrick forum? At least Michael drops in there occasionally and the general level of knowledge of the theme is higher over there, I would imagine.

If you want to see my site, all that you have to do is type “/index.php” after my address. Right now, the server is showing you the contents of “index.html” by default.

I said it was hard-coded because it was not using an actual attribute of the <li> element.
Sorry for leading you off on a wild goose chase. I didn’t have time to go and check earlier either.

I removed any trace of lists in the wp-includes/links.php & wp-includes/template-functions-category.php files, I also messed with the wp/includes/template-functions-general.php also, so my sidebar has no list elements whatsoever

Can you be more specific with what you did with the template-functions-general.php? I’m fighting all kinds of list problems in the sidebar, too, and might blow them out. Not sure, but would like to know how.
