• Working on some accessibility issues on some sites that use ‘Display Post’ plugin. One of the main alerts we are getting from our assessment tools is that when displaying the thumbnail in the shortcode, the thumbnail image is hyperlinked plus the Alt attribute uses the value of the post. This creates a redundancy situation where it is confusing for visually impaired users with screen readers or a browser.

    Scenario:
For those users, let’s assume we have some articles about dogs. The screen basically comes out looking like this:

    ——————————–

[THUMB IMAGE] Why are dogs our best friends? Why are dogs our best friends? Why are dogs our best friends?

[THUMB IMAGE] Who let the dogs out? A Study on the Song. Who let the dogs out? A Study on the Song. Who let the dogs out? A Study on the Song.

    ——————————-

The first instance is the thumb’s link. The second instance is the Alt Attribute and the third instance is the post’s name.

Is there anyway to adjust/change the Alt attribute value and, secondly, is there any way to unlink the thumbnail?

    Please advise
