    Hello,

Just upgraded our test environment (multisite) to WP 4.8, which now comes with its own core Image widget. So I deactivated and removed the Image Widget plugin.

Everything works fine, except for the following warnings in the Wordfence Activity box on the Multisite Network dashboard page:

Warning: fopen(/var/www/virtual/###########/htdocs/wp/wp-content/plugins/image-widget/image-widget.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/virtual/virtual/###########/htdocs/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4785
Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/virtual/virtual/###########/htdocs/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4788
Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/virtual/virtual/###########/htdocs/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4791

Re-installing and activating the Image Widget plugin removes the warnings. Deactivating the plugin is OK, but deleting the plugin brings the warnings back.

Does Wordfence use the Image Widget plugin instead of WP 4.8’s new Image piece?

For the moment, I can get by with simply network deactivating the Image Widget plugin, but I’d really prefer to delete it entirely w/o having WP or WF throw out a bunch of warning messages.

    Thanks, Eddie

  • Hi Eddie,
This could be related to WordPress cache, perhaps the plugin was deleted right before running a scan, could you please run a new scan after deleting the plugin within a couple of hours or something?

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks.

Must be caching. Just checked and saw that Image Widget is gone completely, and so are the warning messages. Guess it’s resolved, then. Thanks! ??
