    Hi,

I have been battling for a week now trying to get my podcast RSS feed submitted to iTunes and it seems like when one issue gets fixed another comes up. Would really appreciate some feedback on the errors I am getting.

The RSS feed for the podcast that I am trying to submit to iTunes is https://anomicranger.com/feed/podcast

I have filled out all the appropriate information for the plugin thru the PowerPress settings. I have attempted to validate the podcast feed thru the Cast Feed Validator link that is provided. Here is where I am at now:

Under ‘Basic Feed Tests’ I get 1 error saying that there are HTML style comments in the bottom of my feed. I have added php to my functions.php file that is suppose to remove HTML comments. This has not done the trick. I am wondering if there is an alternative solution to remove these unwanted HTML comments at the bottom of the feed?

Under ‘Media Tests’ I get a fatal error saying the server does not support HTTP head requests. The site is secured, HTTPS. I have gone on whynopadlock.com and entered the site URL to see if perhaps I had some mixed content that needed to be fixed, but everything checks out 100%. I am not sure why I am still getting this error

Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to – if possible – use my WordPress site as my central hub for content. Thank you

This is what’s at the bottom of your podcast RSS feed that should be removed:

<!-- Comet Cache is NOT caching this page, because$_SERVER[‘REQUEST_URI’]indicates this is a/feed; and the configuration of this site says not to cache XML-based feeds. -->

Looks like it’s being inserted by something called Comet Cache. You may want to check Comet Cache settings or stop using it altogether. You can also try contacting the Comet Cache developer to see if they can help.

http head requests aren’t related to your site’s SSL certificate. These requests need to be enabled on the server(s) that host your podcast RSS feed, your image artwork, and your media files in order for podcast platform like Apple Podcasts to properly play your media files. Contact support for the company hosting your website and ask them to enable http head requests for your site.
