We had GTranslate working on subdomains for a while and found that we just didn’t need it going forward, so we removed the plugin and removed the DNS CNAME records for the language subdomains. I personally didn’t set this up for my client, but want to make sure we are removing this completely. Running a stack trace when publishing a WooCommerce product, I see an extraordinary amount of attention being paid to GTranslate even after removal.

I’m in the process of tracking down speed-related issues, and this is raising a red flag for me. I’d like to make sure all references to GTranslate are removed from the site.

What needs to be done to completely remove GTranslate? I am thinking there is some database cleanup to be done, but want guidance from the source! I’m posting here because I think the answer may be valuable to others. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

You just need to remove the DNS records and uninstall GTranslate plugin.

If you have ever used sub-directory URL structure, make sure to check .htaccess file and if you see any rules related to GTranslate, remove them as well.

We do not keep anything inside your database. Basically it is a language selector installed on your website + translation delivery network.

If you are uninstalling GTranslate to track down speed issues, then you are looking in a wrong place, GTranslate does not slow down your website. It is a cloud service and all the processing is done by us.

    Thanks! ??
