    hi

I want to remove end points as I do not need them.

Can I just remove the End point in settings/Advanced see here: https://app.screencast.com/4tfCLd9xTklta

And the essentially removes those pages. Is there anything else that I might need to do to stop those ‘pages/end point’ from being discovered even though there is no appended URL?

  • HI

    1. Update permalinks: After removing the endpoints, it’s a good practice to update the permalinks on your WordPress site. Go to “Settings” -> “Permalinks” and click “Save Changes” without making any modifications. This refreshes the permalinks and ensures that any removed endpoints are no longer active.
    2. Check for links and references: Review your website’s content, including pages, posts, menus, and widgets, to ensure that there are no internal links or references to the removed endpoints. Update or remove any links that point to those pages or endpoints.
    3. Update sitemaps: If you have a sitemap generated by a plugin or through your theme, regenerate the sitemap to reflect the changes made. This ensures that search engines are aware of the removed endpoints and don’t index them.
    4. Implement redirects (optional): If you want to redirect any old URLs that were previously using the removed endpoints, you can set up 301 redirects to redirect them to a relevant page or your website’s homepage. This helps in maintaining SEO value and provides a better user experience. You can use a plugin like “Redirection” or add redirect rules manually in your website’s .htaccess file.
