    Originally my site had 3 free security plugins (Bulletproof Security, Succuri and Wordfence). I have updated to the Wordfence premium plug and removed the free Sucuri plugin.
    I have inactivated the free BPS plugin.
    I would now like to delete the free BPS plugin but retain the improvements it made to the .htaccess file.
    Question(s):
    Will simply ‘deleting the plugin’ achieve my objective?
    Are there additional steps or ‘gotchas’ that I need to do or take into consideration?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

    You can download the root htaccess file. Then uninstall the BPS plugin on the WordPress Plugins page. Then upload the root htaccess file. A gotcha would be if you install a new plugin and you see a 403 error. Since you no longer have a BPS Security log file then you would need to check your server log file to see what was blocked in order to create an htaccess code whitelist rule.
