Removing borders around social media icons

Try adding this to your custom CSS (Appearance > Edit CSS):

.widget-area img {
    border-radius: 3px;
    box-shadow: none;
}

td {
   border: none;
}

add this to your child theme and the borders are gone:

.widget-area img {
border-radius: none;
box-shadow: none;
}

You should ADD CSS changes to custom CSS or to a child theme.
