Removing a custom post type from the loop

Hi Guys,

I have a question, I have set up a custom post type, it has a number of posts attached (let’s call those work_posts) I also have a blog on the site, however.. at the moment in the blog listing it is listing both the standards posts and the work_posts together in one loop. I need the blog to only show the standard posts type, not any of my custom post types.

I was wondering, if I created s template called archive-posts.php would that work?
