    Hi,

I am having real problems with your plugin. I have had a connection with a Facebook account that was closed – and now I can’t remove that connection.
I did everything in the documentation, but will always ask for permission from the old account. Then, I removed all the entries for your plugin from /wp-admin/options.php file

but no I am getting this error when trying to connect to Facebook:

    “Something went wrong.
This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page.”

What can I do? did I remove too many fields from /wp-admin/options.php ?

Also, removing the plugin and installing it again won’t solve anything. Would be really great to have an option upon deletion to ‘remove all the data’, so we can start a fresh install, without all these problems!

    please help
    thanks

    Hello @dreamsoft,

I’m sorry about that! I agree it would be easier if resetting options was more straightforward. Clearing more options automatically on disconnect is even a tentative planned feature.

It does sound like you did the usual steps from the plugin’s side to reset Facebook for WooCommerce. Once you click ‘Connect’, Facebook determines which accounts to offer you, and your browser cache may have some cache/cookies that prompt Facebook to offer you the incorrect account when trying to connect.

Could you please try the reconnection in an incognito or private browsing window that has no cookies or cache set? If that doesn’t work, contacting Facebook to ensure the account is correctly configured on their side may be worthwhile, but I’d like to know what happens with a fresh browser session first.

We look forward to hearing back from you, and if you have any further details such as screenshots or logs from **WP Admin → WooCommerce → Status → Logs** that may help to include in your reply. Make sure any logs you post have any personal information redacted, as this is a public forum.

    Thanks!

that is great news, I hope it will be added soon.

I tried different browsers, same result. I tried incognito too, the only difference is that it will be is asking me to log in – once I do that the error will be the same.

I can’t contact Facebook for the account, as I tried with different accounts and the result is the same. The old connection was deleted, so why is this still happening?

So this is not related to Facebook, but maybe to the plugin itself?

is there anything that I could have deleted from wp-admin/options.php and cause this?

    What else could I do?

    thanks

    Hi @dreamsoft

On the same browser where you are trying to connect Facebook, can you please try logging into your Facebook account first, and then attempt to do the steps to establish connection of WooCommerce with Facebook?

If it still gives error, it will be difficult for us to figure out the reason for the error, since it is happening on a Facebook window. You will need to ask further on their support forums. https://www.facebook.com/help/community/ask/

thanks, but I’ve tried that before, with different accounts and different browsers. To me it looks like there’s a problem with the module, checking back the information, as the login phase is done successfully
too bad, this is a really useful and needed plugin

    Hi @dreamsoft,

As a next step, please check the following:

    – Make sure you are both admin and owner of the Facebook assets you are connecting to (Facebook page and Facebook Business Manager)

    – Make sure the Facebook admin account has 2FA enabled. If you are not sure how to check, the facebook support team at Facebook can help you confirm this.

Let us if the problem still persists.

yes, I am, and 2FA is enabled. the problem is not going away

    Hi there!

    Thank you for confirming that!

Can you confirm that you have the latest version of the “Facebook for WooCommerce” plugin? If not, are you able to try updating the plugin?

If you still experience issues, it looks like resetting the external business ID and re-connecting seems to do the trick in most cases:

    1. Surf to https://<your-site>/wp-admin/options.php
    2. Search for wc_facebook_external_business_id
    3. Update field to include only supported characters and save (best practice: store-name-dfsdc7lck9k6a ← 13-digit random string)
    4. Go back to WooCommerce > Facebook and click “Get Started” again

Please keep in mind that the ‘wc_facebook_external_business_id’ WordPress option cannot be blank or contain non-Latin characters`

If that doesn’t help, could you share your current System Status Report? You can get it by navigating to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status. Once there, click on the “Get system report” button and then copy it by clicking on the “Copy for support” button.
