A member insisted that he did not include links in his post, but that the “removed link” message appears 16 times in his first post. He tells me that he first wrote his comment in Microsoft Word, and then pasted it to the forum.

Now, I know when I have done this writing blog posts that a paste from Word brings with it html formatting. I don’t know if that is what is going on here, but it was the only thing I could think of.

    Is this a known issue?

I think this is done by wpForo Spam Control. There is an option to not allow new registered users post a link. Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools admin page and manage minimum number of post user must have to post a link. Set it 0 if you want. This will work for new posts. The old posts links will not be back.

In order to stop it, I did set it to zero.

However, it was happening with every new member, on every posts, and when no links were included.

You can read the conversation with my members here: https://koffee-o-matic.com/community/feedback-and-suggestions/link-issue/

You can also look at the posts up until last night, before I set “Min number of posts to be able post links” to zero. These posts were having 5, 10, 15, and sometimes more “removed link” messages added to their posts.
