Noob alert… While “playing around” with the twenty eleven theme, I deleted the home page’s navigation label and removed the home page from the menu, making it only accessible by typing in mywebsite.com/home.

I would like the home page to be the page that you land on when going to the root domain (mywebsite.com). I think that is the default setting. Right now I can only access it by going to mywebsite.com/home.

I tried re-installing wordpress to get back to default settings (as per advice on another thread) but it didn’t seem to do anything.

    Here is my site:

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Can you revert to Twenty Twelve theme? If so, if you see still face the problem.

It seems you face the problem because of incorrect editing of the theme. Never edit the original theme, instead create a child theme and make customizations only in your child theme.

Hi, thank you, I tried reverting to Twenty Twelve theme and the menu displays normally.

But when I go back to Twenty Eleven, it is the same as before.

I would really like to use the Twenty Eleven theme. Is there any way for me to start over with the Twenty Eleven theme or fix what I have done?

Yes, delete the theme and reinstall it.

I just deleted everything in my public.html folder, thinking I would do a fresh start, reinstall wordpress and then the theme.

Something tells me I should not have done this…

When I try to do quick install of wordpress from my cpanel now, I get an error and it won’t install.

Can you advise on how to go forward given that I’ve done this?
