Remove Visual Editor on comments

    I have tried everything, but I cannot get rid of the visual editor on comments. I just want a plain text box.

    I suspect it may be an old plugin that has not uninstalled correctly.

    I have tried different themes and they all have the visual editor.

    At a loss ??

    Moved to Fixing WordPress, this is not an Everything else WordPress topic.

    Which plugin? Can you please try some temporary troubleshooting steps?

    • Switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme
    • Deactivate all the plugins, no exceptions
    • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies

    And re-visit your site. Does the problem still exist when you do that?

    Hi, thanks. Should have tried disabling all plugins. It was a plugin – Crayon. Changed settings and all solved.
