Remove unneeded fields from Publish metabox
-
Hi, I just noticed that when I’m editing a Widget Block, the “Publish” meta-box on the right contains these fields:
Status
Visibility
Publish onHowever, they don’t actually do anything. If I change the Status to Draft, or the Visibility to Password Protected or Private, the widget still displays just fine on the website (which is a good thing of course!)
I would suggest removing those three fields completely from the Publish meta-box as they are unnecessary and may cause confusion (or maybe they do work one day and break the layout of the site?)
A widget should never need to be set to draft, or private or password-protected, nor even need to be set to a future “publish on” date. A widget should always be visible, and if the developer doesn’t want it showing on the site, he/she can simply remove the widget itself from the sidebar on the Widgets page. Right? ??
