    Hi Stowbee,
you can do that from the Woocommerce settings page, by setting “Selling Location(s)” to “Sell to specific countries only” and the selecting only the countries you want (excluding United Kingdom, in your case).

Please note that some gateways doesn’t allow you to use Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland instead of United Kingdom.

For example, it won’t work with Paypal Pro, while it will work fine with Payapal Business.

Hi Daniele. Thanks for getting back to me.
I imagine that solution would work but we ship worldwide so that will be a very long winded way to exclude the UK. I’d have to add every other country in the world! In the end, I commented out the UK, from the countries php file.

On another note. It won’t let me add a standard tax rate to ENG for example. Says it only allows 2 letter codes. How do I apply tax rates for England, Scotland, Wales etc? If I choose GB it doesn’t work for them. Please could you respond asap as my site is due to go live tomorrow! Thanks.

    Hi Stowbee,
in the latest Woocommerce version there is a “select all” button which automatically adds every country in the world. Then you can just remove UK.

The second issue has probably to do with the way Woocommerce manage country codes (please note that my plugin only provides a backend interface for the function specified in the official Woocommerce codex documentation, it doesn’t change Woocommerce behaviour).

Have you tried using a two letter code?

    Daniele
