Peter – Instead of removing it, is it possible to hide the slug? Or, can a plugin be created to do this? I’m migrating from a static html site over to WP and I have about 2,500 pages created off the root domain. I don’t want to setup 301 redirects for all these pages. Thanks.

Do you only want the uncategorized slug to not show up in your URL?

NM you already said that’s what you want ??

    Yes, just the “uncategorized” slug.

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem possible at all with WordPress. I did a bit of research and couldn’t find any solution.

Thanks for researching it. It looks like I will just need to add posts/categories for the 2,500 articles off the root domain. To redirect these pages to the correct location, would mod_rewrite be the best solution?
