Remove Trackback and Comment features of POD-items

Hello there,
a few weeks ago, I discovered Pods, and have been playing around with it. I am impressed by the possibilities, and I love it!
My knowledge level, however, is not impressive: I know my way around HTML and CSS, but not so much PHP. I just manage to follow detailed recipes, for instance to create a function, or a custum shortcode, but much of it is uncharted territory for me. Anyway, I’m learning a lot these days. Plenty of time during this corona crisis.

I do have a question now:
I noticed, that if a new Pod is created, having the extra features “Trackbacks” and “Comments” checked under “supports” in the “Advanced Options”-tab, then of course, each Pod-item has these features. But after the Pod is populated with items, these features don’t disappear when they are unchecked in the Pod’s “Advanced Options”.
You may have guessed: I created a Pod with “Trackbacks” and “Comments” features, populated the Pod with over 300 items, and then changed my mind: I don’t want the Trackbacks and Comments features.
So here’s my question: is there a way to remove these features, without having to do that individually for each item, or to start over all along?
I suppose it’s possible to write a simple PHP-routine that does just that, but apart from the fact that I lack the skills to do that, it’s not very elegant. Actually I was surprised that removing these features from the Pods’ Advanced Options did’nt do the trick.

I do hope that you specialists have some interesting remarks on the subject, and maybe a solution.
