I’ve implemented IdeaPush and edited CSS to remove a few fields from the list such as “idea status”, etc. My intent is to use your plugin to create dynamic lists (eg top 20 money saving ideas).

However, I can’t figure out how to enable visitors to vote without having to create an account.

I did change Plugin Settings to “Guest Votes/Ideas > Yes”, but it still asks me to login on my phone and on Chrome/Edge on my laptop.

Do you have an idea of what i should look at to fix this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @nmottet,

Unfortunately it’s a requirement that voters have to have an account before voting. The reason for this is to prevent vote fraud. I appreciate there are some use cases where a trust system might suffice, but there are also people who use the plugin who rely on accurate numbers and people participating on their website may be unknown and will have a fun time voting on an idea a gazillion times.

The voting logic is pretty complex in the plugin so it’s not something that can be easily changed or turned into a nifty option to turn off. However if the feature is important, I can develop a custom plugin for you at a reasonable price. But please note, by doing this, I would need to customise the core plugins, which means you wouldn’t be able to update the plugin any further. But if that is not a big deal, feel free to email me: [email protected] and we can discuss this further.

    Thanks,

please consider in future allow plugin usage without registration process.

the plugin would be very useful in a lot of situations.

    Hi @drbrahm,

Thanks for your feedback. As I said I can make a customisation for you if it’s important, so just email me if you are interested in this. The plugin has a lot of options already, too many in my opinion, so if there’s a feature like this which has only been raised 2 times, it doesn’t make sense to add it to the plugin as it just adds another option people need to go through. If I get a lot more people requesting the feature I will most definitely consider it as I want to make as much people as possible have a positive experience with the plugin.

    Thanks,
