Remove the footer with all of the menu items

    The footer section at the bottom with all of the menu links in it are just a repeat of what is at the top. How do I remove that entire bottom area? I checked the widgets where it says footer and there is nothing in any of them, so not sure where to check next.

    Also, I added a background (the white is too stark for me) but it only shows up for like a second then it is gone. Any help there? Thanks!!

    I really love the simplicity of this theme!
