Remove the footer bar on mobile ddevice

Hi.
I would like to remove the footer bar on mobile device and get back my search box in my header.
I saw a snippet in the support of storefront to remove the bar but it’s not working when i put it in my functions.php . So for now i use a display:none on my footer bar.
How can i do that please ? thank you
