Can you provide your site URL? Do you want to move the menus above your logo/title area?

Do not edit the Twenty Twelve theme. It is the current default WordPress theme and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many situations. First create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.

esmi, yes I have got a child theme, I just need to know the css code to use.

Laura, no I want the menu to be at the very top without the space, or minimize the space as much as possible.

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

Already done this – it’s actually part of the background – I’m surprised no one else has done or wanted this done.

Without a link to your site there is no way for anyone to help you more with this…

A screenshot is useless – someone has to be able to use Firebug to look at what CSS is creating that space on your site.

Its the default setting with 2012 theme, nothing special, I haven’t edited it.

So why isn’t Firebug working for you? There’s a margin at the top…

This is what Firebug shows:

But since that’s in a media query, you have to do the same in the child theme – add this:

@media screen and (min-width: 960px) {

    margin-top: 0;
}
}
