    I have attached two pictures. One with how mobile SERP shows my breadcrumb trail and another with what I am trying to accomplish. Issue and goal results highlighted in Red.
    I have tried searching forums and the web but have found zero explanations on this.
    I am looking to just replace the breadcrumb URL of my website with just the name “Famsource”. Thank you in advance for any help and/or guidance.

    Update – I believe I found info on the Schema.org markup. When I check my source code I see sitename-Famsource is in the markup…I think. Not sure if that is it but that is why I am looking for help here. Can someone please advise.

    Hi,

    To clarify you want Famsource to appear in the SERPs for the homepage instead of the domain name?

    If that is correct, you will need to implement the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs and then ask Google to re-crawl your homepage. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/article/245-implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs

    You can then use this guide to have Google recrawl that homepage: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/

    Hello, @pcosta88 Thank you for replying. Yes, I am trying to replace the ugly URL with just my websites name for SERP. I am using the OceanWP theme. My blog pages show a breadcrumb at the top of each article. Is this different then what needs to be placed into say, the header.php? I tried logging into to Bluehost and browsing the file manager, it seemed like the OceanWp theme integrated with Yoast. Maybe I am incorrect. I am not a developer nor do I have a child theme, since I have never had to change any theme files as of yet. I read the article on placing the Yoast breadcrumbs in a file. Will this be overwritten on an update. Is there another place to put them that will work? Sorry for all the questions. Please note that I did post this question with the OceanWP theme support also, but no reply. Thank you for your help.

    **edit – if I read correctly, can I just add the shortcode to all my pages as I don’t have that many? Is the shortcode hidden once added?

    Another question. Can I use the Header and Footers plugin to add the Yoast code to my header section? Thank you.

    Hi @famsource,

    We checked the source code of your page using the Google Structured Data Testing tool and we see that you have not implemented the Yoast breadcrumbs yet. As mentioned, we recommend that you check this article on how to implement the Yoast breadcrumbs. This should provide the additional output in the Schema to fix the issue with the way your site is being displayed in the search results.

    Since we are not familiar with your theme, we are not sure if you can add the breadcrumbs code without causing any issues. We recommend you contact the theme developer.

    Please note that we also found some other schema output on your page that is not added by the Yoast plugin, like duplicate “Webpage” items. We recommend contacting your theme developer for additional assistance on how to remove them.

    @marcanor Thank you for the clarification on how to implement the breadcrumbs, also the duplicate Schema issue. I will put in another topic with the OceanWP theme, although I am yet to have them reply to any questions I have asked. I appreciate that I now know how to fix this issue.

    @marcanor Through the advice of someone else helping, I have created a child theme and added the Yoast PHP to it. I believe I have created it properly. I added the header.php file to it and added the Yoast Breadcrumb PHP. The only additional step I took was adding CSS in my theme’s customizer to make the breadcrumbs not visible in the title bar on my pages. I tried looking at the Google SD tool, but I didn’t think I saw the code that the Yoast Breadcrumb article said to look for? I also turned off the Schema Markup in my theme’s settings, so hopefully, that removed the extra output you had mentioned. Can you please let me know if the breadcrumb code is active or if I have missed something. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

    We are not seeing the Yoast Breadcrumbs in the source code for https://famsource.com/. So the breadcrumbs are not being outputted. We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you placed the Yoast breadcrumb code in the right spot? You may need to experiment. You know you have it in the right spot when the breadcrumb appears on the front-end of the homepage https://famsource.com/ where you want it.

    Can you confirm the breadcrumb appears on the front-end if you unhide it?

    2. If you go to SEO-Search Appearance-Breadcrumbs can you confirm you have set this section up correctly? Are the breadcrumbs enabled? Did you select the right items from the drop-down boxes?

    @pcosta88 Thank you for your continued help. Here is the info/images you requested. The Yoast PHP is in my Header file inside of my Child Theme.

    CSS used to make breadcrumbs not visible –
    #breadcrumbs {
    display: none;
    }

    Homepage breadcrumbs (and I currently have the CSS removed so you can see it).

    Hi,

    We can see Yoast is outputting the right code to make the breadcrumbs appear on https://famsource.com/. See image: https://pasteboard.co/Iqyu2UW.png

    The issue is that Yoast is not outputting the right schema to make Famsource appear in the SERPs for the homepage instead of the domain name. Yoast should be doing this, but fails to do so.

    This is a bug. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our plugin. A bug report is currently open with our development team for this issue.

    In the meantime, we suggest signing up for our newsletter as that is where we will announce product changes and updates. You can sign-up for it here https://yoast.com/newsletter/.

    @pcosta88 Hello. I saw Yoast SEO just put out another update. I thought I read something about the Schema in this update. Will this update resolve the issue/bug you mentioned for the Schema output? Thank you again for your continued help.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, the issue is still unresolved. The issue is still open on GitHub and is not scheduled to be included in an update yet. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that this doesn’t mean the issue won’t be resolved. It means that the issue is in a queue and takes longer before our developers have the time to investigate the issue. Whereas we can’t provide an ETA as to when a fix for this issue will be implemented, you are on the list to be updated as soon as it is resolved.

    You can follow the progress of the issue on GitHub here:? https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/13325

    Hi I am also interested in this issue. I want to change the website URL on mobile to my site name. However, by choosing to enable breadcrumbs, it appears Yoast also adds breadcrumbs to my site navigation, which I don’t really need at this time. Is there a way to just add to mobile search?
