    Hi,

    Please can you tell me whether it is possible to remove the “Select A Country / Region” option at the top of the dropdown menu on the checkout page.

    We don’t want to remove the country dropdown menu, just the first option because this can be selected and when it is we have an issue with the prices on our website as it does not register any country.

    Your description sounds a bit contradictory.
    Could you upload a screenshot for us that shows what exactly you want to remove?

    Hi Con,

    Thanks for replying to my message.

    We are wanting to remove the top option highlighted (https://imgur.com/pwLhzyp) but without removing the countries in the dropdown list.

    The reason we want to do this is because, when a customer first comes to our website the country is set to our store location which is the UK. When they get to the checkout they can then change this if they need to. Our prices / tax settings change depending on where the customer is.

    So for example if a customer orders this product in the UK it costs £50 including tax and delivery (https://imgur.com/A1gdU6S) and this is the same as what is shown on the cart page (https://imgur.com/KdB2KDX) but if they change their country to the US the checkout page changes to remove the tax and include the delivery charge (https://imgur.com/CZK3lVL) however when the country is changed the prices in our store and on the cart page are no longer the same. As you can see here, after the country was changed the USA the deliver charge isn’t shown on the cart page and the price has been reduced from £50 to £41.67 due to the tax being removed (https://imgur.com/oom9le0)

    When we investigated, it seemed that this was being cause by the website not registering the new country (USA) and setting the prices as though there isn’t a billing country at all.

    I have the same issue! And, since my website is on Russian, i was hope to at least translate this “select a country / region…” span, but still figure out how to do it.

    Yeah same for me, I have a funny feeling there is a bug where it is now possible to checkout without selecting a country, even though it is set as required.

    You can simply continue with “Select a country / region” and it will show up as “default” in admin.

    Same thing happens when I remove select2 and leave the country dropdown in its raw form.

    Hi @99uavvw. Sorry that we missed your last response.

    “Select A Country / Region” is the not the issue here in terms of the website not registering the new country. I suggest checking if you have any caching enabled on your site and ensuring that the Cart, Checkout and My Account pages are not cached.
