    Hi,

    1) These can be removed/replaced via Appearance >> Widgets section on your admin dashboard.

    2) The comment form can be removed on per page basis by going to the page edit screen and unchecking the “Allow Comments checkbox” – you may need to enable it first by clicking on the “Screen Options” at the top right of the same page and checking the “Discusion” box.

Hope that helps but feel free to ask some more if you still need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Hi Zulf,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Question 2 is resolved.

Question 1: I tried deleting them all from the widget section, but everytime when i delete the last widget, all of it will appear again on the website even though the Main sidebar widget is empty. How can this be solved?

    Hi Audrey,

If you do not wish to use the sidebar at all then that will require doing some code edits via a child theme.

What is your coding comfort level?

Please note that the “Search, Archives and Meta” widgets are the theme’s default placeholder for the sidebar when no widgets have been added via the admin.

To replace them simply go to Appearance >> Widgets and add your desired widgets to the “Main Sidebar” widget area.

If however you wish to remove the sidebar altogether from the front page then that would require doing some edits to the sidebar.php via a child theme.

Please be specific so that I can taylor the response to your needs.

I personally found that if you add the widget “Custom Menu” but then leave the title blank and do not select a menu from the drop down list that this then left a blank space where previously there was the search bar etc. I also changed the page to “full width template” so that the text went right across the page and didn’t look shunted to the left.

I’m sure there’s a correct way of changing this by changing the script as Zulf mentioned so I guess this is the version for those who don’t know anything about coding.
