    Hi, Fantastic plugin BTW Rogier.
I have a question or rather a request.

When I check out the source code of my site I see this …

<!-- Really Simple SSL mixed content fixer active --><!DOCTYPE html>

Now this is not very cool or indeed not something Google SEO takes lightly.

It’s best not to have this lodged into the code at all as it’s very un-SEO friendly. It may or more than likely will negate a poorer ranking from Google.

How do I get rid of this comment?

It is an easy way to check if the fixer is active, and I’m planning to use this in an automated check within the plugin, as in some cases the mixed content fixer is blocked. The user should be alerted this, and the simplest way to do this is with a comment.

In future releases I will add a filter which would enable you to remove it. You would then get a warning that the mixed content fixer is not active, but I can make that dismissable.

I’ve never heard of comments being negative for SEO. Could you explain why this is so?

At the moment, you could edit the plugin file so the comment won’t be added. On the next update, you can add the filter.

    Thanks for the reply Rogier.

Which file can I edit to remove the comment?

I’ll explain to you about the SEO and comments, not here tho, maybe via email instead.

    Too public here.

In the class-frontend.php, search for the comment, and comment it out. That’s all.

Thanks Rogier, worked like a charm.

If you want, email me and I’ll explain about the SEO / Comments thing I mentioned.
