Remove post from homepage slideshow

Thanks in advance for any help. I’ve created the slide show as instructed, but the post containing the slide shows up below slider (a portion of the image and the post). How do I have the homepage slideshow ONLY?
Would like other blog posts to show on home page – just not the slide show ones.
Clear as mud? Appreciate any feedback.
