Remove page title from actual page

  • Hello, I working on a the Coaster 1.6 theme and have a question on how to remove the page title from the actual page. I would like to preface my questioning that I am a beginner working with html and css and know just enough to be dangerous.

    I am working on a site that someone else has built and cant figure out how to do this when I create a new page. In the pages that were built previous this “title”, h1 tag is not present. The editor shows php files for each page that was built before I started. I think I am correct in assuming that the page set up is in these php files and that is why the Title does not appear on them, as well as the right side bar.

    How do I set up a page that I built and turn it into a php file that is the same thematically as the other pages on the site? I hope this makes sense?

    I am also looking to remove the right side bar that is being pushed to the bottom of the page.

  • Not sure if I follow exactly what you mean by building a new page… But its likely that the old pages just simply choose a custom page template.

    When you go into edit a page look on the right sidebar at “Page Attributes” just below the “publish” button.

    You should see “Template” with a drop down menu. Try choosing any custom templates it has to offer. One of those should be like the old templates and will not have the H1 coded into the HTML. Hope that helps.

    Thanks Randy, I tried that and it does not work. The old pages each have their own php file. I think I need to make a php file for the new pages I am adding. Not sure how to add a php file?
