Remove Lyra/Vega credit from footer

Hi, I have Vega Pro and would like to remove the “Vega Pro WordPress Theme by LyraThemes” text in the footer. I’d like to confirm the code to remove from the footer.php file. When I tried removing what I “think” needs to be removed via the WordPress Editor functions, it no longer will Update the file (I used to be able to do this). When I edit the footer file offline and upload via FTP, overwriting the current file on the server, the change does not take. When I go to view the footer.php file in Editor, nothing has changed. I can confirm that I am replacing the footer file in the Vega folder. Help!
