Remove horizontal lines from menu?

Hi, I am on WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme and I have tried to find the right CSS to remove the horizontal lines/divider on the custom menu, but nothing is working.

I have a black background on the footer and the menu lines are showing up white. These are the horizontal lines (or the divider) in between each menu item. The menu is a widget in the footer part of the page.

Also, on mouse rollover, the menu text is disappearing because the background is also black, how do I change this?
