    Hello,

recently bought mailpoet sub and found is very versatile but stuck at one aspect so seeking some help.

Every registered user is added to WordPress User list, and if they subscribe to any other list I want them to be removed from User list.

As I send a welcome email to WordPress user list after a few telling them about the various emailing newsletters they can subscribe to and what benefits it offers , but my query / concern is if that user is also part of another list they will get an email which won’t be relevant anymore.

    So in Emails

    • I set it to send user A who is part of WordPress user list an email after 3 days
    • while user A also subscribed to another list in 3 days
    • So will user A gets 2 emails ? one for being in WordPress User list and one for being in any other list ?

How can I ensure that a subscriber who is part of any other list may not get the email scheduled to be sent to WordPress User list ?

Deleting WordPress List is an option but then I can’t engage new website users organically, or is there a way to go about it ?

Hope I have been able to explain my query.

    Thanks

    Hi there

Every registered user is added to WordPress User list, and if they subscribe to any other list I want them to be removed from?WordPress?User list.

Have you tried creating an automation that does the following?

    • If a subscriber subscribe to a list
    • Remove them from a specific list (WordPress) list

Please try and let me know how it goes!

Hello @solstudioim , that’s the first time I tried doing but unfortunately the default list created for WordPress Users who register isn’t available in the “Remove from list” trigger in automations.

All lists created manually are available but the default which gets created by the plugin isn’t available

    Hello there @dr-hack

In MailPoet, a user can indeed belong to multiple lists. To answer your question, if subscriber A is part of your WordPress user list and also subscribes to another list, they will receive emails meant for both lists. Therefore, it is possible that they would receive 2 emails, as described in your example.

To ensure that a WordPress user does not receive the planned email if they have subscribed to another list during the three-day period, you will need to manually check and remove them from the WordPress user list. However, we understand that this might not be very efficient if you have a large number of users.

Currently, MailPoet does not support automatic exclusion of users from the WordPress User list if they join another one.

It’s not on our roadmap now, but you’re welcome to add it as a suggestion here https://feedback.mailpoet.com

Our team will take it into account when discussing new features and improvements for the plugin ??

Of course, feel free to reach out to us if you need any more help or have other questions and we’d be happy to help.
