Remove Footer Banner l Attorney Template

  • Hi All,
    I need help on how to remove banner from my WIP website https://www.thechairmanwife.com Previously I have website designer occasionally to help me out in every maintenance because I have no patience on doing it and due to time and travelling as well.

    Could someone please help me out in giving me step by step instruction? I am using attorney template at the moment.

    I feel like a sense of achievement if I can do it by myself this time.

    What banner are you referring to? Do you mean the ad banner above the footer?

    If so, first check your theme options and/or the customizer to see if you can set an add and disable it there. If there is no such option, look for a plugin related to ads and disable it.

    Yep correct the ad banner above the footer.

    I just disable the plug in for “Advanced Ads” however my website now is down. Is this normal?

    No. Disabling a plugin should not take down your site. Your site seems to be up now.

    That’s weird, once I activate the “Advanced Ad ” the website is fine again!

    Previously the guy who inserted the banner above the footer gave an instruction to me for disabling the ad by following these steps:
    Dashboard > Advanced Ads > Ads > Bottom ads and changed ‘Published” to Draft. But in this case even though I did it it’s still there

    But then disabling the plug in doesn’t work in this case.. This drives me crazy!

    Disabling the plugin should not bring down your site.

    I am the developer of Advanced Ads. While I would ask you to post in the plugin forum if you have further questions, here are my 2 cents for now:

    * It looks like the web developer used a function to include the ad into your theme. When the plugin is disabled, the function is unknown and so the site breaks. There are other ways to implement it safely, but this would explain the issue when disabling Advanced Ads
    * When you are logged in, you might still see drafted ads. You can move it to trash to be sure. Or you still see it because your site uses caching. Clearing the cache should help in that case.
