Remove, Discussion, Password-Protect, etc for Write Post for user leves

  • Hi there,

    I’m trying to edit my Create New Post section and Edit Post section so that Contributors don’t see the

    Discussion
    Password-Protect Post
    Post Slug
    Categories
    Post Status
    and Post Timestamp

    Is this possible? I am fine if it involves me editing the codes, i tried looking in the admin folder but couldn’t find the correct file to edit

    I am also looking for this… I’ll be sure to let you know if I find it.

    I managed to remove the ‘Discussion’ menu item by hacking up wp-admin/edit-form-advanced.php, but I do not think this is the best place to do this. I am sure there must be a place where all these items are listed in sequence… like the file that dictates their format in the admin panel… however I have not been able to find it yet. If anybody knows please share. Also, I am not sure (still new to WordPress) but from what I have been reading you may be able to set the permission level for accessing these functions in one of the files. SO you could remove these items by setting their permission levels so high that no one can access them. If anybody knows where that file may be I would be greatful.

    wp-admin/edit-page-form.php has the stuff you can take out to remove the menu items on the write page admin panel… still looking for the one for write post
