Remove date stamp from featured image on home page

I would like to remove the red box and date as seen on the first post’s (Celebrate Bastille Day) feature image.

If you’re using either a child theme or a custom css file (highly recommended), put this into your css file:

.site-content div.entry-thumbnail .stickyonimg, .site-content div.entry-thumbnail .dateonimg, .site-content div.entry-nothumb .stickyonimg, .site-content div.entry-nothumb .dateonimg {
display: none;
}
