Remove date and author from posts

    I want to do two things:
    1. Remove the “author” information altogether from all posts.
    2. Hide the “date” from all posts but not remove it.
    Can anybody help? I’ve searched everywhere I can think of and there are plug-ins t remove the meta-data altogether but that’s not what I want.
    I’m OK with editing the theme if I knew where to look or using additional CSS if there is any way to do these two things.

    I’ve taken a different route – I’ve changed the theme to Astra, which allows you to do these things easily. It was time I updated from this older theme anyway.
