Remove Dashicons

  • Hi, Is there a way to choose other icons or not use any Dashicons at all?

    We would not like to load the Dashicons script (pretty heavy script) for each visit.

    Since we have disabled it, the open arrow (it’s the only icon used in our mega menu) shows up as squares.

    Can we please use any other, and not load the Dashicon script on every visit? Your menu system is heavy as it is, we don’t need this.

    Using the letters/characters “+” “<” “>” and “-” instead is better for us.

    Hi Torgrim,

    I think it would probably be easiest if you set the Arrow icon to “none” (select the empty square in the icon picker), then used custom CSS to reinstate them with a font (this is a custom modification that you would need to write yourself or ask a freelancer to help with).

    Ahh, thanks, I did not notice that you could use “None”.

    Maybe you should have the word “None” in the icon picker, so people see that this is an option?

    Thanks again, helped a lot to get rid of those squares. The rest I do the easy way by naming my categories “+ Math and Calculation”, etc.
