I’m building a website that will have static content, but a blog attached as well and I’d like to remove comments from those pages but not the blog.

    Any solutions you know of?

I do apologize as I know this question has been asked a jillion times but most questions concern removing commenting entirely. As I am extremely stupid regarding PHP (and coding in general) I won’t do anything before I’m sure.

    Thanks—

  • If your theme supports comments on pages, assuming you do not have many pages, just do a quick edit of each page and turn comments off…then delete any in place.

I am interested in this too … SwansonPhotos, do you mind sharing a little more instructions on how to edit each page and turn comments off? I am very new to building websites and new to WP (though mostly find WP very user-friendly, especially with helpful folks like you around) … and also afraid to try anything before I am sure I know what I am doing … Thanks in advance for your help!

Heya guys, well this is pretty simple:

    1. In order to disable the comments section on a per page basis, edit the page and look for the the “discussion” box, where you”ll need to uncheck the 1st checkbox. If you cant find the discussion box perhaps you need to enable it throu the display options panel.

    2. If you wish to disable commenting on pages sitewide you will.need to edit the theme, open up page.php and comment out the line that calls the comment script

    Enjoy!

    Omeriko,

Thank you! What I didn’t realize what that I shut off the display of those controls in my “Screen Options” tab. I had no idea that existed.

    Thanks again!

    Hey, my pleasure ??
