    Hello,

So i have set the plugin to reload the page after visitors have accepted the cookie conditions, as the site elsewise wouldnt load the Google Analytics scripts etc.

However, when the plugin reloads the page, it adds an ?cli_action=XXXXX (lots of numbers) following the original URL.

Is there any way to remove the ?cli_action=, as it messes up Analytics (and otherwise looks wrong)?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    I solved this myself.

All i had to do was, that upon acceptance the button should open a URL.

The URL field should then be left empty, where it would reload of the scripts on the page.

This function works on multiple of my sites, however, it does not seem to work on blondehuset.dk

Any suggestions as to why it does not reload the scripts on that page?

(A site where this “hack” works on is nordsko.dk)

    Hi @aoedigi,

We checked the site(https://blondehuset.dk/) and it is working correctly similar to nordsko.dk

@aoedigi can you elaborate what you exactly did you do to make it work? You made a JS script, HTML tag or in PHP? I guess you could also use the GTM or any other tag manager to cut this URL parameter.

    1) Go to GDPR Cookie Settings
    2) Customise buttons
    3) Under ‘accept button’ go to action
    4) Set that to open URL
    5) Leave the open URL field blank
    6) Set ‘open in a new tab’ to ‘no’

Done. After users accept the cookie notification, the site will reload without adding ?=cli_action

I’ve tried your method but I’m having some issues.

    1. The landing page is actually not the first but the second page you visit.
    2. The Source / Medium will always be “direct / none”, which means you won’t be able to see where your traffic is coming from.

    Maybe try this instead:
    1. Leave the GDPR Cookie Settings as it is (with cli_action in the URL)
    2. Open Google Analytics, and navigate to your ‘Admin’ area.
    3. Navigate to your ‘View Settings’.
    4. There will be a field here called ‘Exclude URL Query Parameters’.
    5. Enter cli_action into the field and save
