Hej Independent Analytics, will you please remove the “changelog” part with text and videolinks from the app?

The changelog belongs as part of your WordPress app page.

I really like your app and appreciate the work you do, but I don’t like bloat in the apps I use, and find it disappointing that your using your app as a link building tool.

    BR Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for your feedback on this.

We think the Changelog page is pretty discrete the way it is now. It’s tucked into our plugin’s submenu, so it doesn’t show up unless you’re already viewing the analytics. The notification will disappear after the page is viewed once. A lot of plugins place the notification in the parent menu item, and we were careful not to do that so it can be easily ignored.

We make important changes to the analytics in each update and we wanted to make it easy for people to keep up with the changes, so that’s why we added this page in the first place. It is not for “link building” and we receive no SEO benefit from doing this. Link building would have to take place on the public front-end of the site where Google is crawling, but the Changelog menu is in the WP admin, so it is inaccessible to Google. There also aren’t any links to our site in that menu anyway (they all go to Youtube or Feedbear).
