Remove category slug brokes blog page

    Hello

    I encounter this problem which a site under construction :

    When I enable “remove /category” the blog page (where articles are shown) is broken or return a 404.

    If I deactivate this option, it’s ok.

    The site is under construction, there is no cache plugin

    I try to flush permalink but same results.

    I deactivate all plugins excepts Rank math, same problem. I switch to a default wordpress theme, same problem

    Have you an idea where the problem could come from please ?

    Ok sorry for the troubel, it was a category named “blog” which cerated the problem

    Since it’s not possible to have two pages loading on the same URL and you had a category with the same slug as the blog archive this issue arose from that after removing the category base.

    Thanks . I would like to know : when I import yoast informations to RankMath (meta description, title, …) is it normal that, in the database, there is still some “yoast” informations ?

    Hello @fantou,

    Yes, that is normal as Rank Math does not remove or delete the data from your Yoast when migrating.

    However, if you wanted to delete your Yoast data, you can do so by following these steps:
