    In the Advanced Options page in the SetUp Wizard there is an option

    Remove /category/ in your permalinks (Shorten your URLs by removing /category/ and improve your SEO.)

    On this page [https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/removing-product-product-category-or-shop-from-the-urls/] on WooCommerce, there is an advisory:
    “Removing /product/, /product-category/, or /shop/ from the URLs is not advisable due to the way WordPress resolves its URLs. It uses the product-category (or any other text for that matter) base of an URL to detect that it is an URL leading to a product category.”

    What are your thoughts on this?

    Hi,

    yes, when you use this option you have to be careful with URLs conflicts.

    You must check you don’t have identical URLs by yourself because the prefix category is removed.
