That looks like Twenty Eleven theme but try using this.

.cat-links, .entry-meta, .only-search.with-image {
    display: none;
}

yeah it is i made a mistake sorry I’m still sort of learning. where should that go?

Well you should create a child theme and add it to the style.css but if not, add it at the bottom of your theme style.css. If you’re using Jetpack plugin, it has a CSS module which is great for adding CSS like this to your theme.
