Remove categories from posts in newsletter

    Hello,
    When using the Email editor, there is a widget which allows you to add a post that you can choose from the list of existing posts.
    When dragged and dropped onto the newsletter, chosen post is added, including categories of the said post … question, is there a way to remove categories from the newsletter, just keeping the excerpt ? it’s a website with a lengthy list of categories and each post has a lot of them, making the newsletter very long …
    I tried looking into the plugin itself but cannot find where would be the template for that widget, well more the template for the post to be added … if anybody has a clue, it would be appreciated ! Thanks !

    Thanks for reaching out!

    So if I got it right, you’re adding a post to your newsletter but it shows all the post’s categories. Is that right?

    Here is what I tried:

    – I chose the Posts block and dropped it to my newsletter
    – I chose a specific category in the block and then a specific post
    – My post was added but I don’t see any categories: https://d.pr/i/qRFtDx.

    Can you please share a screenshot of what you see? Also, what MailPoet versiona re you using?

    Hello,

    Sorry, completely forgot I had posted this … I found the solution: when you select a post there is a small link “display options” just above the “insert post” button that allows for displaying or not displaying categories … That setting is kept for each email so if you did refuse to display categories before, they don’t show anymore until you change that setting, I guess that’s the reason why you don’t see them in your test.
    It was a fresh install of Mailpoet so my guess is that “display categories yes” is the default.
