remove categories from home page

Go to Admin page > WooCommerce > Settings > Products tab > Display page and look at the “Shop page display” drop down. Its probable that the current selection is “Show both”, so change that to “Show products”.

Yes that worked for the categories. However, now it is showing products. I only want the featured products to show (which are showing at the top) but now all the other products show below it. Is there a way to remove all other products (everything) except for the featured products I have there now?

I didn’t think you can restrict a shop page to show only featured products. I don’t know how you did that. The present markup for the page shows that featured and non-featured products are intermingled.

My understanding is that the alternatives for showing only featured products are:
– use the Wootique home page, and set the number of featured products to show at Admin page > Wootique > Settings > Homepage settings
– setup another ordinary page to be your home page. This would have the featured products shortcode on it:
[featured_products per_page=”12″ columns=”4″ ‘orderby’=’date’ ‘order’=’desc’]

You can use just the parameters that you need.

I tried what you said but that didnt work. I want to keep my featured products on my homepage but underneath the featured products, all of my shop products show up. I can change this to categories and categories will display but I dont want that either. How can I only have the featured products to show here? Thanks for help with this.

If the shop items are is showing up on the home page, go to Admin page > Settings > Reading. Probably this page will show you have selected a “static home page” not “show posts”. Underneath that choice there will be a drop down where you can choose your home page. Choose one that is not the shop page. On the one that you choose, put the featured products shortcode.

I have it set to static home page and have a page chosen that I created. If I choose “show posts” there is no selections for that. I also have the featured products shortcode on that page and it is displaying them but its also displaying either all products or categories (whichever I choose) underneath that (which I dont want). In my woocommerce settings I have the option to choose to show products or categories but there is no option to show none.

OK, go to Admin page > WooCommerce > Settings > Products tab > Display > the top-most drop down is “Shop page” – this enables selection from all your pages, make sure its not pointing to the page with the featured products shortcode on it.

It is pointing to the page I created as a static front page that has the shortcode on it. should I create another page for this without the shortcode and select that one?

Yes. This new page will then be the main part of your shop.
